Born and raised in Louisiana, I have always had a knack for politics and writing. Working elections in the Bayou State during and after college, I got a chance to get an inside look at campaigning and how to win.
At the same time, I kept pursuing my favorite hobby — writing. In the past decade, I have launched and contributed to several blogs.
One of those blogs, a little WordPress site, led to my first professional writing opportunity with IJ Review. From there, I have gone on to write for some of the biggest names in internet journalism such as Rare, Real Clear Policy, and Opportunity Lives. I am also an Associate Policy Analyst for the R Street Institute, which is based in Washington, D.C.
I still call metro New Orleans home and even contribute to the popular Louisiana-based blog The Hayride as a Senior Correspondent. There, I get to shine light on the Bayou State’s notorious political scene.
Outside of politics, I enjoy clinging to God and guns….and whiskey, along with traveling and sports.
